US FAA: Ban of Russian aircraft will be posted by end of Wednesday

FX

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said in a statement, the official notice banning Russian aircraft from US airspace will be posted by the end of Wednesday.

The ban applies to scheduled passenger flights, cargo, and charter flights, the FAA said.

This comes after US President Joe Biden confirmed in his State of the Union (SOTU) address that he has banned Russian flights from using the American airspace.

In doing so, the US joins the EU and Canada in stopping Russian flights through their airspace.

Market reaction

Investors have shrugged off these headlines, as the risk tone remains firmer in Asia, reflective of the 0.36% gain in the S&P 500 futures.

The US dollar index is fluctuating between gains and losses below 97.50 so far.
