US Senate Maj. Leader Schumer moves to close debate on $1 trln infrastructure bill

US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer progressed towards closing the debate on a $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill, Reuters reported early Friday.

However, the Senate remains unclear on a probable vote on passage this Saturday, Reuters said.

Schumer still hopes Senate might complete infrastructure bill late Thursday, otherwise work to continue on Saturday.

Market reaction

The US dollar index is trading at the highest level in seven days at 92.36, adding 0.12% on the day. The greenback remains hopeful of an NFP jobs blowout, which could bring forward the Fed’s taper timing.
