Guar gum futures fall on low demand

News

Guar gum prices on Friday fell Rs 151 to Rs 6,144 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend at spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for December delivery fell by Rs 151, or 2.4 per cent, to Rs 6,144 per five quintal in 740 lots.

Guar gum for January delivery decreased by Rs 29, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 6,180 per five quintal in 49,920 lots.

Marketmen said slackness in demand in the spot market and increased supplies from growing regions put pressure on guar gum prices.
