Zinc futures down on muted demand

News

Zinc prices fell 1.46 per cent to Rs 222 per kg in futures trade on Monday as speculators reduced their exposure taking negative cues from spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for November delivery traded lower by Rs 3.30, or 1.46 per cent, at Rs 222 per kg in 1,097 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly weighed on zinc prices here.
